Indian Army Agniveer Recruitment 2026 Eligibility

Agniveer (General Duty):

• Class 10th /Matric pass with 45% marks in aggregate of five basic subjects and min 33% marks in each of those five subjects. For boards following grading system, grades commensurate to percentages, as above, will be considered. Indian Gorkhas – Class 10th Simple Pass.
• Note: Candidates with valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV)/Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) Driving License will be given preference for Driver requirements.

Agniveer (Technical):

• 10+2/Intermediate Exam Pass in Science with Physics, Maths and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate.
  • OR
• 10+2 /Intermediate Exam Pass in Science with Physics, Maths & English from any recognized State Education Board or Central Education Board to include NIOS and ITI course of one year in any field with NSQF level 4 or above.

Agniveer (Clerk / Store Keeper Technical):

• 10+2 / Intermediate Exam Pass in any stream (Arts, Commerce, Science) with 60% marks in aggregate and minimum 50% in each subject. Securing 50% in English and Maths/Accounts/Book Keeping in Class XII is mandatory.

Agniveer Tradesmen (All Arms):

• Simple 10th pass (No stipulation in aggregate percentage but should have scored 33% in five basic subjects).

Agniveer Tradesmen (All Arms):

• Class 8th simple pass.
• No stipulation in aggregate percentage, but should have scored 33% in each subject.

• Notes.
• 1. Multiple Category Options. The Agniveer candidates can apply for SELECT TWO Agniveer Categories over and above Regular Entry Categories based on their eligibility.
• The candidates seeking two options will have to fill up forms/ apply for the two categories separately, appear for two Common Entrance Examinations, pertaining to their choice of Categories.
• However, they will be required to undergo only one Recruitment Rally and Medical Test for the Category meriting higher Physical Fitness Test/Medical standards.
• Priority of Categories will be filled up by the candidate during application stage itself.
• Final option will be endorsed by candidate post completion of recruitment rally.
• However, merit and selection would be carried out based on default priority of various Categories including Regular Entry Categories.
• Candidates will be permitted to select lower priority Categories after merit list is prepared prior to despatch to Training/ Regimental Centres based on submitting a ‘No Claim Certificate’ as per format enclosed at Appendix ‘A’.
• 2. Priority for Selection in Trades under AV Tradesman Category.
• Candidates are required to enter their choice of trades under AV Tradesman Category during Application Stage. A total of UPTO 09 TRADE OPTIONS under AV Tradesman (10th Pass) Category and UPTO TWO TRADE OPTIONS under AV Tradesman (8th Pass) Category will be provided to candidates for fixing their PRIORITY for selection. Further, if a Candidate chooses not to enter a particular Trade in choice of Priorities, the candidate may not be considered for selection despite being in merit and will perforce forgo selection due to non-availability of vacancies in chosen Categories as per priority.
• 3. Candidates who have appeared in class 10th, class 12th Board Exam, NIOS and ITI course and who are awaiting declaration of results are also eligible to apply provided they fulfill all other Qualification Required.
• Such candidates, however, shall only be selected when they produce the original mark sheet during the Phase II of recruitment process.

Indian Army Agniveer (Agnipath Scheme) 2026 Salary Structure

• Note1: AGNIVEER will not be required to contribute to any Provident Fund of the Government.
• Note:2: There shall be no entitlement to any gratuity and any kind of pensionary benefits in case of AGNIVEER.

• Insurance, Death and Disability Compensation. AGNIVEER will be provided non-contributory life insurance cover of Rs 48 lakhs for the duration of their engagement period as AGNIVEER in the Indian Army.
• AGNIVEER will not be governed by provisions contained in the Pension Regulations/Rules for Indian Army.
• Agniveer Skill Certificate. At the end of engagement period, a detailed Skill-Set Certificate will be provided to the AGNIVEER highlighting the skills and level of competency acquired by the personnel during their engagement period.
• Personnel enrolled under this scheme will not be eligible for Ex-Servicemen Status.
• Only unmarried candidates will be eligible for enrolment as Agniveers and they must undertake not to marry during the defined engagement period of four years.
• Agniveers who marry during the said period would be released from service.
• Further, only unmarried Agniveers will be eligible for re-enrolment in regular cadre as Sepoy/equivalent on selection as currently in vogue.
• Candidates must indicate Five Choices of the exam centre.
• All possible effort would be made to allot exam centre based on choice made by the candidate.
• Exam centre can be allotted outside of the choice made by the candidate due to administrative restrictions.
• Any candidate opting for Agniveer Clerk/ Store Keeper Technical as an option/ priority for recruitment will be able to choose only those examinations Centres with the facility for conduct of Typing Test.
• The list of Centres with Typing Test Facility is enclosed as Appendix ‘F’.

Indian Army Agniveer Recruitment Process 2026

• Recruitment process will be conducted in two phases.
• Phase -I will be Online Common Entrance Exam at Computer Based Test Centres allotted to the candidate and Phase-II will be Recruitment Rally by Army Recruiting Offices at Rally Venue.

Online Common Entrance Examination (CEE)

• Candidates to report at the Examination Centre with colour print out of Admit Card.
• Candidates shall be debarred from appearing in online test in case anomalies/irregularities/incorrect information are observed during initial verification at the examination venue or at any subsequent stage of selection process.
• Download Admit Card from www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.
• Candidates not reporting for the test on due date & time will not be accommodated on other dates.
• Entry gates at exam center will be opened one and a half hour prior to scheduled time of exams and will close 30 mins prior to time of exam.
• No candidate will be allowed to enter once the entrance gate is closed.
• Candidates should carry Aadhar Card (as displayed on the Admit Card) as proof Identity for both phases of test ie Online CEE, Rect Rally and Medical Test.
• Common Entrance Examination (CEE) will be conducted in 13 languages (ie English, Hindi, Malyalam, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi, Odiya, Bengali, Urdu, Gujarati, Marathi and Assamese).
• Online test will be objective Multiple Choice Question (MCQ). As per category of application the candidates would be required to answer 50 questions in one hour or 100 questions in two hours.

1. Registration:

• Go to the official website: joinindianarmy.nic.in.
• Enter the Captcha to enter the site.
• Click on the “Agnipath” tab on the header and select “User Registration”.
• Click “Continue” after reading the instructions.
• Register using your Aadhaar Number (OTP verification required) or Matriculation Certificate.
• Fill in your personal details (Name, Father’s Name, DOB, Email, Mobile Number) and create a password.

2. Login & Profile Setup

• Log in using your registered Email ID and Password.
• Complete your profile by entering your communication details (Address) and educational qualifications.
• Click on “Check Eligibility” to see which Agniveer categories (GD, Technical, Clerk, etc.) you qualify for based on your data.

3. Filling the Application

• Click on “Apply” for your chosen category.
