What is UP PET?
- The Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) is a screening examination conducted by UPSSSC.
- Instead of conducting separate preliminary examinations for every recruitment, UPSSSC uses PET scores to shortlist candidates for the Main Examination of various recruitments.
- Candidates who qualify PET become eligible to apply for numerous UPSSSC vacancies released during the validity period of the PET score.

- In accordance with the Government Order No. 316/47-Ka-3-2025, dated 28-04-2025 of the Government of Uttar Pradesh, Personnel Section-3, the score obtained in the preliminary qualifying examination will be effective for 03 years from the date of issuance of the examination result by the Commission/uploading it on the website of the Commission.
UPSSSC PET 2026 Important Instructions for Candidates
- All reserved category candidates from Uttar Pradesh must indicate their category in the application.
- The Commission’s decision regarding a candidate’s eligibility/ineligibility will be final.
- Only the date of birth indicated in the high school or equivalent examination certificate will be valid. No other document other than this certificate will be accepted for date of birth.
- Self-attested copies of mark sheets, certificates, and degrees must be submitted upon request to confirm age and educational qualifications.
- The Commission will provide information regarding the exam date, time, district, and exam center through the admit card along with the serial number. Candidates must appear for the exam at the allotted exam center. Changes to the exam center, date, and time will not be permitted under any circumstances. No representations will be accepted in this regard.
- The candidature will be rejected if the date of birth is not mentioned in the application form, if the applicant is an adult or a minor, if he does not possess the minimum educational qualification or if he gives wrong/false information.
- Any candidate providing false information in their application form that cannot be substantiated by a certificate may be debarred from the Commission’s examination in question and from all other examinations and selections.
- The Commission will grant provisional admission to the written examination to candidates based on the information provided by them. However, if it is later discovered at any stage that the candidate provided false information and was ineligible or that their application was not initially acceptable, their candidature will be cancelled.
- Any candidate found guilty of cheating, indiscipline, misconduct, or other undesirable conduct in the examination hall will result in their candidature being cancelled. Any violation of these instructions may result in a candidate being debarred from this examination and from future examinations/selections. The Commission’s decision in this regard will be final. The provisions of the Uttar Pradesh Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act-2024, dated 06 August, 2024 will be applicable in the examination in question.
- The Commission will have the right to cancel the candidature and debar (DEBAR) from the examinations and selections of the Commission if found involved in any misconduct/misconduct, concealment of any important information, pending prosecution/criminal case, conviction, having more than one living husband or wife, misrepresentation of facts and making recommendations regarding candidature/selection etc.
- The Commission does not engage in individual correspondence with any candidate. All notifications are published on the Commission’s website; therefore, all examinees/candidates are expected to regularly check the Commission’s website for all information related to the advertisement.
- The Commission does not provide advice to candidates regarding their eligibility; hence, candidates should study the advertisement carefully and apply only when they are satisfied that they meet the eligibility criteria specified therein.

- Male candidates who are married and have more than one living wife, or female candidates who have married a man who already has a living wife, shall not be considered eligible, unless an exemption from this restriction has been granted by the Governor.
- Once the online application has been submitted, modifications to the application will be permitted only up to the last date prescribed for such amendments. No changes or modifications to the application form will be possible after that date.
- Therefore, all required information must be filled in accurately and carefully at the time of registration and application submission. The information provided by the applicant in the online application will be treated as final, and the process of shortlisting candidates for various main examinations will be conducted based on this information.

- A candidate’s candidature may be cancelled if incorrect or erroneous details are provided. The decision of the Commission in this regard shall be final.
- 13.16- A candidate selected under horizontal reservation will be adjusted against the category to which they belong.
- In the event of any act or attempted act during the examination conducted by the Commission—such as attempts to compromise the integrity of the examination, use of unfair means, or cases of impersonation at any stage—that constitutes an offense under the *Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita* or any other Act promulgated by the Government of India or the Government of Uttar Pradesh, action will be taken against the concerned individual under the relevant provisions of the *Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita*, the Uttar Pradesh Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024 (which provides for life imprisonment and a fine of up to one crore rupees), and other applicable laws. The candidate may also be debarred from the specific examination and future examinations conducted by the Commission.
- In the event that a candidate submits more than one application, only the application submitted last will be accepted; all other applications will be treated as cancelled.
- Candidates may modify permissible details in their application form only up to the last date prescribed for making corrections.
- No modification to the application form will be possible at any stage after the said date, and correspondence with the Commission regarding this matter will not be entertained.
