Executive Trainee (Chemical):

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering in Chemical/Petrochemical /Chemical Technology / Petrochemical Technology /Chemical Technology & Polymer Science/ Chemical Technology & Plastic Technology with minimum 65% marks.
• Passing Year: Candidates must have completed their degree in 2025 or currently be in their final year (2025-26).
• GATE Requirement: Valid registration and appearance in GATE-2026 in relevant papers (CH/IN/EE/ME) is mandatory.
• Course Type: Full-time Regular courses from UGC recognized Indian University/Deemed University or AICTE approved courses.

Executive Trainee (Instrumentation):

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering in Instrumentation/ Instrumentation & Control/ Electronics & Instrumentation/ Electrical & Instrumentation/ Electronics/ Electrical & Electronics with minimum 65% Marks.

GAIL Executive Trainee Recruitment 2026 Terms And Conditions

• Wherever CGPA/OGPA/CPI or letter grade in a Degree is awarded, equivalent percentage of marks should be indicated in the application as per norms adopted by University/Institutes.
• Candidate is required to obtain a certificate to this effect from the University/Institute which shall be required at the time of Selection Process.
• Engineering Degree can be B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc. Engg.
• Candidates having 05 years B.E / B. Tech. + M.E / M. Tech. integrated dual degree in engineering in relevant discipline shall also be considered.
• Candidates who have completed their Bachelor degree in Engineering (including 05 years BE/B.Tech + ME/M.Tech integrated dual degree in Engineering) in the year 2025 OR Candidates who are currently in the final year (2025‐26) of their Engineering Degree course (including 05 years BE/B.Tech + ME/M.Tech integrated dual degree in Engineering course) /only are eligible to apply for the post of Executive Trainee in E-2 grade in the discipline as per the Table III above.
• Candidates who have completed their Bachelor degree in Engineering (including 05 years BE/B.Tech + ME/M.Tech integrated dual degree in Engineering) in the year 2025 and belonging to General, EWS, and OBC (NCL) category must have secured minimum 65% marks and candidates belonging to SC/ ST/PwBD category must have secured minimum 60% marks.
• Candidates who are currently in the final year (2025‐26) of their Engineering Degree course (including 05 years BE/ B Tech + ME/ M Tech integrated dual degree in Engineering course) and belonging to General, EWS, and OBC (NCL) category must have secured minimum 65% marks in aggregate up to the last semester/ year examination at the time of applying and candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ PwBD category must have secured minimum 60% marks in aggregate up to the last semester/ year examination at the time of applying.
• Selection of candidates who are currently in the final year (2025‐26) of their Engineering Degree course (including 05 years BE/B.Tech + ME/M.Tech integrated dual degree in Engineering course) will be further subject to obtaining minimum 65% marks in case of General, EWS, and OBC (NCL) category candidates and minimum 60% marks in case of SC/ ST/PwBD category candidates in their Engineering Degree and submission of Final Degree certificate (at least provisional certificate) and mark sheets of all semesters/ years towards documentary proof of having passed the qualifying Degree examination in relevant discipline/ branch with minimum prescribed percentage of marks as indicated above.
• The candidates applying for Technical discipline where only BE/B.Tech. is notified as essential qualification and have done 05 years Integrated MBA/Integrated M.Sc. in combination with B.E/B.Tech i.e. B.E /B.Tech MBA or B.E/B.Tech + M.Sc. shall also be considered with combined/single percentage provided that final percentage awarded by the university/institute is meeting the essential qualification criteria notified for that particular position.
• Candidates who have completed their Bachelor degree in Engineering (including 05 years BE/B.Tech + ME/M.Tech integrated dual degree in Engineering) in relevant discipline/ branch in the year 2024 or earlier are not eligible to apply.

GAIL Executive Trainee Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

• Based on the GATE‐2026 marks, candidates will be short- listed for further selection process for the position of Executive Trainee in the above disciplines.
• Please note that only GATE‐2026 marks are valid for this recruitment exercise.
• GATE marks of 2025 or prior to that is not valid.
• Selection Process will involve Group Discussion and/or Interview before the Selection Committee.
• Group Discussion shall not be conducted for the candidates of PwBD Cat. B, PwBD Cat. D and PwBD Cat. E and in lieu of Group Discussion, Case Study/Writing exercise or any other tool will be adopted for assessing the skill & competencies subject to scoring a minimum 35% marks.
• The minimum qualifying percentage of marks to be secured in Interview are fixed at 60% for UR/OBC(NCL)/EWS category, 55% for SC/ST category, and 50% for PwBD category.
• The minimum qualifying percentage of marks to be secured in Group Discussion or any other tool adopted for assessing the skill and competencies are fixed at 40% for UR/OBC(NCL)/EWS and 35% for SC/ST/PwBD category.
