- The candidate must have passed the 10th class examination or its equivalent (under the 10+2 examination system) with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized board and must also possess an ITI certificate in the trade notified, from an institute recognized by NCVT/SCVT.
- The candidate must possess the required qualification as of the date of submitting the online application.

SCR Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
- Merit List Preparation
- Document Verification
- Medical Examination There is no written examination or interview in this recruitment process.
- Selection of candidates will be as per the Railway Board guidelines (RBE 120/2015, dated 06.10.2015).
- Selection of eligible candidates for training under the Apprentice Act, 1961, will be based on a merit list prepared by calculating the average of the percentage marks obtained in both the 10th Class/Matriculation examination (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) and the ITI examination, giving equal weightage to both.
- In case two candidates have the same marks, the older candidate will be given preference.
- If the dates of birth are also the same, the candidate who passed the Matriculation/10th Class examination earlier will be considered.
- There will be no written test or viva-voce.
