the Schedule-I of Apprentices Rules 1992, as amended time to time.
Southern Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
Fresher Category :- Marks obtained in Matriculation will be converted for 200 and merit list will be drawn based on the converted marks duly ensuring Minimum 50% in aggregate marks in Matriculation.
Ex.ITI :- Marks obtained in Matriculation will be converted to 100 marks ( duly ensuring Minimum 50% marks in aggregate) + ITI marks duly converted to 100. Total marks put together will be calculated for 200 marks and merit list will be drawn based on the converted marks giving equal weight age to both.
MLT :- Marks obtained in Higher Secondary (with Physics, Chemistry, Maths & Biology) will be converted for 200 and merit list will be drawn based on the converted marks duly ensuring Minimum 50% in aggregate marks in Matriculation.
Southern Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Important Instructions
The decision of the Railway administration in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of the applications and mode of selection shall be final.
There is NO GUARANTEE FOR EMPLOYMENT and their contract of apprenticeship will be terminated on completion training on completion of training. However, 20% of the vacancies in case of Direct recruitment through RRC’s may be filled giving preference to course completed act apprentices trained in railway establishments and possessing National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC).
If any declaration furnished by the candidate is found to be false, he/she will be disqualified / terminated at any stage of the training period without any notice.
Candidates selected for the training program will be responsible for arranging their own accommodation and other facilities.
Academic/Technical qualifications acquired through recognized Boards/Institutes will only be considered. Candidates applying for Ex.lTI category should possess ITI qualification in the relevant trade at the time of applying itself.
The selected candidates should abide by the rules arid regulations framed by the Administration from time to time.
Candidates who are willfully absent or whose surety is represented on his behalf during the engagement/apprenticeship are required to refund the full cost of their training and any stipend received, as determined by the Central Apprenticeship Adviser.
